We're very glad that you've found your way in... NOT EVERYONE is familiar with chat rooms...ME included! So please bear with me as I explain how to get started...and as I fumble around in here...setting it all up. When you want to post...look for....."NEW THREAD". You will find this over on the right hand side of the gray bar. Tap that with your curser...and you will find exactly what you want to use to post. You can sit in here...and chat amongst each other, in a real time group chat, or just post what you want and then leave. It's UP TO YOU how you use this. I'm leaving this thread open...so that if you have a way to let me know what setup you would like to have here. I'll pop my head up...every once in awhile, as I work around in here putting things the way you like them. Now...to figure out...the rest of the story. ENJOY! Lisa

Would anybody be interested in salting sheep skins in St. Croix. The farmers have a few hundred a year right now being underused.

All I've been able to read about them; aren't they protected against being butchered because they're listed as an endangered breed?

???Hi all, very new to this. So here it goes I have been raising Kats and Dorpers for 4 years now and I am sure my base flock have some St. Croix in them, I am now very interested in getting more into the SC breeding and I am at a crossroads as how to find anyone in Alberta who raise these type of sheep. Can you put me in the right direction, so I can find some rams of the SC type. Thank you sooooooo much.

I am moving over from Nanaimo and bringing my Croix with me. There is a breeder in Chiliwack that I was considering getting a couple ewes from and maybe a ram. I would definitely prefer not to have to travel all the way to the coast. Let me know what you have and maybe we can work a trade. HL

Hello,
I'd like to purchase any hair breed sheep. I need ewes only as I have a farm donkey who was a stallion until age 14 who does not tolerate males of any species. He is 28 now and a little gimpy so there is no threat of him running the sheep. I have 7.5 acres and I don't want to mow it any more. I have 4 goats, 2 donkeys and 3 horses. It is still too much pasture. I want to purchase 2 ewe sheep that do not need to be sheared. So any hair breed type. I need spend less time mowing. I am 42 and have lived the horse life since I was a young child so I have no illusions about animals ownership. All animals get all veternairy care needed and all maintence needed. This will be a pet home. Animals will live a full sheep lifespan on my farm. Requirements are simple, must be healthy enough to live full life span, not have anything that will infect each other, my goats, donkeys, horses or myself. No life limiting diseases or defects. Must be female, shed coat (no shearing) and like to eat a lot of grass! Good fences and shelter are available.

We live in Columbia Valley (south of Cultus Lake) and have a 3 year old St Croix ram for sale. We previously sold the majority of our stock and now don't want any more lambs so are looking for a home for him. His father comes from USU stock and he is a magnificent looking ram who is very easy to handle. Very reasonable price as it would be a shame for him to go to auction or to someone who doesn't appreciate the stock. Call (604) 858-9650 for more on his pedigree. HL

I haven't been watching the board at all and I have missed any replys to my search for some breeding stock. I can't contact any of the individuals that posted so they will have to contact me. Lambs@Larsens.ca. If you have any St Croix breeding stock for sale within a reasonable distance of Alberta I would appreciate a response (I consider the lower mainland within a reasonable distance).
